Significant dates in Knight Frank's history.

1896 Knight Frank & Rutley founded as a valuation and auction business in London.

1899 Knight Frank sells the Botticelli Virgin and child painting for only £1 and 2 shillings.

1910 Knight Frank moves global headquarters into the Hanover Square office.

1915 Cecil Chubb buys Stonehenge through Knight Frank for his wife for a princely sum of £6,600, she gives it to the nation 3 years later.

1922 Knight Frank sells Sir Winston Churchill’s house for him – and promptly sells him back a new one!

2006 Knight Frank forms a partnership with Newmark, Newmark Knight Frank and providing corporate advisory and tenant solutions worldwide.

2008 98 years later times are charging – Knight Frank moves to Baker Street, relocating more than 850 staff to an open plan 100,000 sq ft office.

2009  Knight Frank has 207 worldwide offices in 43 countries on six continents with 6,340 world wide staff including affiliates.
